I live locally and enjoy the peace and beauty of the area. I’m proud to say that recently I joined Petersfield Town Council as a Councillor representing the Green Party.
I am a blogger, a writer and a podcaster.
I am organised, hard working and love getting things done.
I care deeply about the local community
The fact I have committed to being a Town Councillor is a reflection of my commitment to the area. Preserving the character of our villages is a genuine priority for me. Our area is incredibly beautiful – but it feels neglected by the local and national government. Green spaces are being built on, traffic keeps increasing and the resulting noise and air pollution is deeply concerning. Our health is being damaged, and the Conservative led Council want to keep building more and more.
Surely our community deserves better?
Our community matters – so does our environment
I love this area, its people, its history and the richness of our environment. I want to enjoy the open green spaces around us, and not lose them to unsustainable, largely unaffordable over-developments, speeding cars, and litter. All this building has other knock-on effects; species which were once common are now rare, and each time I go out, I see more rubbish than I can pick up. The pollution must stop. Through the lockdowns we’ve come to realise how important green spaces are to our wellbeing. Yet they are disappearing rapidly and once they are gone, they’ll be lost forever.
This is not good enough. We must conserve our precious environment for our children and grandchildren.
I love helping people
Even though I am young, I have experienced many challenges in my life and people often comment on how mature I am. All my life I have been dedicated to helping others, whether it be speaking up for disadvantaged young people or advocating for vulnerable disabled people. I have bags of empathy and an inherent passion for solving problems, and I also work well with others. My decision making guided by my morals and community; not by the interests of big corporations and political opportunism.
I will be the kind of Councillor who reaches out to people, a Councillor who listens to peoples’ worries and tackles the issues that affect us day to day
